Watching all these GOP-controlled states race each other to gerrymander their districts before the 2026 midterms, it is hard for me to look at the timing of Callais and not conclude that the conservative justices decided the case on the earlier side to do their fellow Republicans a favor

I think we need to finally concede that the judicial branch has lost any semblance of even putting on the farce that it’s politically neutral-ish. It’s not healthy but that’s where we are.
