Did they find a dozen billion dollars under a rug or something? Also, yeah, "profitable" economically maybe. But there's a handful of things beyond "money" in this world. Ecology, humans, these pesky stuff.

not hard to be profitable when you can navigate around basically every environmental and IP legislation on the planet, nevermind basically every tech company and government pushing your product for free. so provided all that crap keeps happening the IPO is sound

Opponents of generative AI should really stop referring to training AI as theft, as it undermines their credibility. Theft is one depriving another of their property. If I steal your cellphone, you no longer have it. Thus, no, it's not the theft of the commons at all. It's simply machine learning.

i dont really know if they are or not i dont speak whatever the fuck language IPO docs are written in

The books are cooked in a way where you invite the most basic corporate CPO and he opens them and just stares at you really dead and says “this is certainly going to keep me employed” and you know you won’t survive the valuation despite Claude saying the books were fine

Good news, everyone! Neither does Anthropic. Their damn reports don't use standard measurements and Ed Zitron summed it up pretty nicely: "We're profitable if you remove all the debt."

We CLEARLY have a well running SEC that's paying attention. Just like everything else right now, the rule of law is working just fine (i.e. as intended).

it is in fact impossible to juice a number because a number is an abstract concept and so does not contain any juice
