The first PVT exposed two probs 1) possible ESD damage during assembly was blowing out the BLE amp on some units, 2) a change we made to the mic membrane caused some units to fail audio testing. We fixed both with modifications to the assembly line. Things seem to be on a good track now with PVT2!

When will my Index 01 ship? Our goal is to manufacture the first 2k units by mid-May and start shipping them out. It will take us roughly 3 months to manufacture and ship out all pre-orders, meaning we should be finished by July. As always, these are estimates. Delays may happen!

Alpha testers Thanks to some brave souls who've been using early versions of Index 01 and reporting bugs, we've crushed a ton of software issues over the last 3 months! Performance and reliability are starting to be really smooth on iOS and Android.

Todoist, add or complete task. Spotify, queue song or add to playlist. Google Calendar, add event. GitHub could be cool, not sure what... raise issue, merge PR, create repo an issue a prompt to get building...

Great to hear about Google Tasks integration! I'd love to be able to use the voice prompt to choose the list that the task gets added to. eg I'd say something like "to personal: pick up milk," and "to work: send an email," where I have lists named "personal" and "work."

for fast capture i'd love to fire a thought to my email inbox right from the wrist — my workflow on iOS is simplememofast.com (one tap, hits inbox in seconds, no app to open later). a watch shortcut for that would basically be the dream.

the watch-as-capture-trigger is the dream use case. quick voice memo → straight to inbox before the thought escapes. (i built simplememo on ios for exactly that pattern — type, hits your email in 0.3s.) curious to see how the Index 01 ecosystem develops here.

honest answer: anything that gets the thought out of my head fastest. for me it's email-to-self because my inbox is the one app that's always synced everywhere. dream Index 01 flow would be one button → raw text fires off, no folders, no decisions.

I'd love it if it could be integrated to work with Logseq. I'd also love to see integration into Home Assistant if that's not already available.

BYO MCP server is the killer move — lets users wire in whatever capture/notes/reminder tool they already trust instead of locking them into one. that's exactly the kind of openness that earns long-term users. excited to see the UI iteration.
