It seems like the police are assuming the far-right losers are 'looking for an excuse' to do more damage and so must be given maximum space. In fact, they are turning a big dial that says 'thuggery' on it and constantly looking over at the state for the slightest sign of consequences.

Presumably there was no such hand wringing over matyrdom whilst arresting Palestine Action protesters, even when they went on hunger strike?
