Not the main point here obviously, but I'm fairly certain the Titanic was actually reasonably easy to turn around overnight right up until it hit the iceberg, at which point turning it ceased to be helpful or relevant.

You can also turn supertankers "overnight" though! 8 hours is a very long time. You can't Tokyo Drift them but they do turn.
