worked for three refugee resettlement agencies for 20+ years. We saw every day the essential work of USAID. Probably many Americans knew nothing of its lifesaving work.

Not to minimize USAID cuts at all, am thinking of framing this horror in terms of USA withdrawing from pretty much ALL international commitments (i.e. RFK Jr's withdrawal from int'l vaccine compact)

Those people failed so many, from the deaths of kids because of USAID cuts, to the loss of rights for minorities and marginalized groups. And not to be a doomer, but all this misery has occurred within the first six months. Trump still has a lot of time left to hurt so many more people.
