guys, guys, the only rural group I genuinely and profoundly wish blanket-level suffering on (upon general principle) are *ranchers*

Ranchers are overwhelmingly demonic ticks on the ass of American society, and I long to see the day they’re all forced to get real jobs instead of spending their days mass-murdering wildlife and squealing and pissing about the same federal government that he hugely subsidizes their nasty lives

also beef is like the worst meat there is, climate-wise. We probably should be eating less of it. hell, i like the idea of lab-grown beef to reduce the power of ranchers.

Bring back bison. They're -perfectly adapted to North America's climate and grazing options -able to defend themselves -magnificent -delicious -love scritches.* *(OK, my sample size for that last one is 1, hand raised. But he LOVED scritches, which made me feel a bit guilty eating his friends.)

Beef totally existed before the current ranching system, and it can absolutely exist after it. And in a much less destructive and more sustainable way.
