guys, guys, the only rural group I genuinely and profoundly wish blanket-level suffering on (upon general principle) are *ranchers*

Faine - as usual blanket statements are always wrong. My father was a life-long US Forest Service professional and the use of grazing on Forest Service land was done for the benefit of the land/forest as well as the ranchers; * control non-native plants * control undergrowth (wildfire prevention)

* fertilizing soil (yes, manure) * thinning overgrown vegetation w/o controlled burning. It's *rotational grazing* and is done for the benefit of the forest, the cattle (shade in hot summer months) & owners. As with any system, it has to be managed well. That is certainly a subject for debate.

Ranchers should try being less ontologically evil if they want anyone to care tbh (Surely there are ways to do this kind of grazing work without subsidizing the worst and most entitled demographic of worthless-ass American MAGAs, no?)

Of course, but saying all ranchers are MAGAs is like saying all fish are sharks. If we want fewer evil people running/involved in any government agency maybe we shouldn't elect evil to set in the White House/Congress?

Ranchers are overwhelmingly demonic ticks on the ass of American society, and I long to see the day they’re all forced to get real jobs instead of spending their days mass-murdering wildlife and squealing and pissing about the same federal government that he hugely subsidizes their nasty lives

“but where will the beef come from?” surely we can find ways to remake a beef production system that doesn’t involve immense welfare payments to feral chud-beasts. I believe in us

Beef totally existed before the current ranching system, and it can absolutely exist after it. And in a much less destructive and more sustainable way.

We went on a big out-west National Park trip a couple years ago, and even just reading between the lines on the National Park history plaques, I repeatedly got the feeling "Wow, ranchers have HORRIBLE politics."
