Keep me posted if you see anything relevant - especially related to tech policy and strategy work around civilian drones, aid, investigating war crimes, and remote sensing. (I’m more of a policy/research wonk than anything else, but I can wear many hats and have a lot of technical experience).

Related: I’m still looking for leads and help on jobs, fellowships, and freelance contracts on drones, GIS, aid, disaster, OSINT, tech ethics, and journalism. I simply will not work for evil people and/or weapons manufacturers, which is also why I haven’t had paying work since Trump 2.0 began.

We've got a couple geospatial research institutions in Stl. Taylor Geospatial is mapping farm fields, doing food security research. taylorgeospatial.org/news/fields-... And WashU's Nathan Jacobs' lab (doing a bunch of work using geospatial for conservation research and tools) mvrl.cse.wustl.edu

If you're still in New England I have a contact I can share. Someone involved in a lot of drone work but I just can't blast it online.

In a different administration, the USDA and especially USFS or ARS would have many positions that specialize in the use of UAV for complicated fire fighting, forest survey, and agricultural research roles. Hang in there!

Do you do remote sensing for science/conservation? I’m working on a project doing drone-only plant, bird, and insect surveys for an island we can’t land on. We’re already working with someone but there’s a decent chance there will be more of this in the future.
