GitHub UX just tanked over the last few years. I used to be able to click a link and it would open. Now often it just hangs loading some client-side JavaScript and I need to refresh the page.

We encountered this issue three days ago. It turned out to be a trade control check but it will be great if you issue a case number and maybe a phone. It was scary as hell because our build servers stop working for 12 Hours.

GitHub’s discovery problem is that popularity is easy to find, but relevance is not. finding the people actually working on adjacent problems still feels weirdly dependent on luck, feeds, and being in the right Discord

I had weird diff views if the base branch moved on. Never had the patience to look that up, just updated the feature branch with the latest commits of the base branch so the diff made sense again. After my vacation I will setup my own forgejo like I had my own GitLab in the past.

I lost GitLab in some weird Debian update and never cared to clean that up. GitLab has also its issues, it gets bloaty and too much AI.
