I just need the ambience of trapped dust and dead yellow jackets in a boxy crt TV speaker with a broken front panel.

I played with a genesis soundchip emulator VST a while back and -immediately- realized that's what I'd need to make it work for music, nothing we heard then was unfiltered and it's kinda crazy to think about. Absolutely everything on tv had the equivalent of a guitar's cabinet in front of the mix.
