I don’t think it does. Maybe if they want to look further into it to see if there’s a difference by type of trauma, but the question is whether the drug decreases the frequency of nightmares in people diagnosed w PTSD who have 2+ nightmares per week.

This study shows THC helps decrease or stop nightmares in people who’ve been diagnosed with PTSD. Maybe you can conduct the studies based on the type of trauma. Maybe it works better for 1 type, or there’s no diff & that’s interesting, too. It warrants further study. This one provides a broad base.

The USA must tend to our veterans. I've seen what cannabis/marijuana can do for PTSD (old AF medic, Vietnam era). My PTSD is mild compared to what these soldiers endured. The stupidity of lawmakers allowed drugs but not marijuana. It produced a generation of drug dependent vets through the VA.

Not a Veteran, a survivor. Smoked weed but suffered flashbacks, painful events, woke up terrified in the middle of the night. Not anymore! A nurse told me to try CBD, an extract from cannabis with low THC. Recall my dreams, sleep +8hrs a day pain-free. Miracle.

So pleased to hear this! 💪 One doesn't have to be in combat to suffer PTSD. Children, women and girls in general (example, Epstein survivors). Some can inflict horrid pain on others. Peace ....

Yes. Trauma can last decades, beat the beans out of you asleep or awake. Triggers everywhere. Trauma survivors recognize others with the same fear. CBD blunts past trauma, recognize it & fight back. Makes one strong enough to call it out.

In America there are 178,000 alcohol related deaths. In the world that total goes to 2.6 million deaths due to alcohol abuse. There is no known death caused by cannabis. Never. Ever.

the only reason cannabis is illegal is because of racism. it's not any more mind blowing than alcohol, and less addictive to boot. personally i don't think LSD or psiolcybin should be illegal either, but at least there's a legit fear there - sometimes people have unpredictable trips

someone who smoked too much pot is just gonna curl up in a ball. someone who took too much LSD might think gnomes are real and need to be assassinated. the government just hates cannabis because they hate black people.

The human race experienced (and survived) pain and anxiety before hospitals and pharmaceutical companies existed. Cannabis was among the tools and remedies they used successfully. Why does the US behave as if it has no medicinal value?

Honestly, weed gives me anxiety. I wish it didn't. I'd like to enjoy it, like so many other people do. But we *are* all different. So, I'm not one of those people who think it's a miracle cure for everything, and everyone. But I do believe grown ass adults should be allowed to consume something

as innocuous as weed if they want to. Alcohol is far more damaging and don't get me started on the damages from pharmaceuticals. I am on pharmaceuticals, btw. Really wish my government didn't tell my grown adult ass that I can't consume shrooms. Another thing I could grow myself.

No shit! Marijuana smokers with ptsd knew this already because they smoked it and it also allows you to sleep throughout the night undisturbed. More research if the government doesn’t hide the facts will possibly find that marijuana will or does have benefits in concern to cancer as well.

ME C-PTSD from domestic violence. They aren't just nightmares, they are night terrors. Again with the softening of a real debilitating condition. You guys are on a roll with stupid headlines today.

I’m a survivor of childhood physical & sexual abuse. I have PTSD. Eating an edible is the only thing that stops the nightmares. I’ve known this for decades.

I have stopped having to rip my drench soaked tshirt every morning. Pharmaceutical do the same but with "side effects" of morning dizziness, low blood pressure, headaches, daytime fatigue, dry mouth, constipation, and light-headedness, low libido, gambling, and sui-cide, etc. vs the munchies

1 year ago I had a 13 kilo malignant tumor removed from my abdomen. My recovery was aided greatly by the use of edible marijuana products. They helped me sleep and kept up my appetite. My story is anecdotal but very true.

I also lost a kidney and part of my colon in that surgery. Had to learn how to walk again. Everyone should have the benefits of these drugs available to them for humanitarian reasons.

What is the US doing to help those suffering from PTSD? This has been ongoing with those who served in our 🇺🇸military, victims of abuse❤️, trauma and many more. Has this #Trumpadministration eliminated programs, scientific studies, medical research.

It's another Trump thing. He can do all the drugs he wants, legal or otherwise. I'm pretty sure that his Adderall habit was not prescribed. But if someone else is suffering and really needs meds, it's not his problem.

Migraines: THC + CBD Combo is Superior: A landmark randomized controlled trial (presented in 2025) found that a specific mix of 6% THC and 11% CBD was more effective than placebo, THC alone, or CBD alone for acute migraine attacks. pain relief within 2 hours and sustained benefits up to 48 hours.

Ladies and gentlemen, we are finally reaching the rollback in time where we get to revisit every progressive study like it's new. It's a live action remake of a Disney film. Nobody asked for it, yet here we are watching Mickey on Ice.

The benefits of cannabis are still being learned. Was diagnosed with primary peritoneal cancer (mimics ovarian) in 2018. My Dr told me it WOULD return w/18-24 mos. I have been cancer free since 2019. Got my med mj card in 2019. My Dr is amazed it has not returned. Clinic is now doing trials on it 😁

It will change once we get actual leadership. Right now they're still in the process of trying to keep the good ol boy network going, but those that have been paying attention have had enough. Blue wave's a-coming!

I doubt that is the underlying reason. My recollection of dreams from the night before is sometimes more real than events from the day before.

People have been using it to relax and/or get high for millennia. We’ve incorporated its use into various religions over that time, as well. THC, as it occurs in nature, will get you high. That’s not abuse, that’s just what it does. Alcohol has similar effects but w/o the medicinal benefits.

The in plants that make is a pesticide. That people and some animals use it and have done so for millennia is not in dispute. To compare weed that was smoked from the late seventies to today is very different than the og strains. People have increased the potency and created extremely potent weed

Selective breeding and genetic modification and increasingly using toxic chemicals to concentrate the potency to even higher concentrations. This is what I’m talking about. If you found an unadulterated weed plant in nature you certainly would get a buzz but the new strains are causing large numbers

Many suffer needlessly, when they can resort to nature for a remedy. Pharma won't tell you about unprofitable organics that grow freely. Look about and learn.

People, the news here is not that pot stops nightmares, it’s that they’ve made it into a controlled, tailored medication that might actually be covered by insurance and health systems.

Extracting components of marijuana for medical use has had limited success because there are often many different compounds involved in the relevant therapeutic action. THAT is what makes this newsworthy. They didn’t discover a new use for marijuana, they made a new pill.

They did not make a new pill. But for the first time they did a thorough study that produced reliable evidence of efficacy. However, they also indicate that further studies are needed, for in some (few) participants administering the drug had adverse effects.

I have PTSD. Former violent crime victim. The real stuff is a pure nightmare. Whatever works is worth looking into. Ending nightmares is good, but the stuff that happens during the day is a serious horror show. Society is raw, often abusive. We would do a lot better if it wasn't like that.

Cops put an undercover in our high school. My graduating class (1979) had 700 students. Undercover officer estimated that out of the 700 students, only about 10 did NOT smoke weed. 70's baby. And the police chief's son was a big pothead. We DID NOT plant pot seeds on his lawn. Nope, not us.

Literally ….. EVERYTHING affects EVERYONE DIFFERENTLY. The fact it’s still illegal in some states but you can walk into a liquor store and walk out with anything you want is ridiculous.

Can confirm the concept, a small nightly dose of thc not only stopped my night terrors but it stopped the flashes during the day that I think kept cycling in my head because of the night terrors. Too poor rn for it, PTSD time, weeeeeee.
