Wage theft is a big problem in Iowa.

My previous company gave me half a check at the beginning January 2026 and never gave a proper explanation why.

I'm saying neither party will fix this. While I do blame republicans more for this than democrats as they are more beholden to private industry than democrats, to say democrats would fix this is also incorrect. The newer dems maybe want to fix this but they don't currently hold the votes.

Wage theft outweighs literally every other kind of theft in the entire country. Everything from "clock out before you split tips" to working entire days without getting paid.

Myself and everyone I know has been a victim of wage theft, to the tune of thousands of dollars. There's almost no recourse unless you are very rich and well supported, with an almost impossible to obtain amount of proof. 😞

And still profits rise..........................wonder why, eh?

Stealing from those who, of all the employed, need every cent of their wages the most. Shame on the thieves.

The ruling class:

You said they refuse to pay overtime. Refuse overtime until they pay you. Otherwise it’s just straight wage theft, and you’d be better off working those 20 hours at ANOTHER company that WILL pay you for them. Just saying. Hang in there. This admin is screwing everyone.

Exploitation of the workers is a tale as old as time and will continue until we the workers decide we’ve had enough and put a stop to all production and consumption of this shit stained economic system.

Climate justice also means: Fair wages for all people worldwide, i.e. the same minimum wage everywhere, in each country. No more monocultures, only so that p.e. cheap meat, corn and bananas can be sold in the industrialized countries. Renaturation, promotion of agriculture. Human rights for all!

Anyway, I got extended overseas & was never compensated for it. That disgusting officer wanted me to perform what amounted to an act of prostitution on the Navy's dime. For an entire year every time I saw that SOB officer, I wanted to kill him. to this day I am furious over that.
