I wonder how much the Internet giving everybody access to instant and free porn of every variety imaginable has influenced our era of “no sex in movies please, we’re Hollywood.” Perhaps sex scenes in big movies were more marketable in the days when there was a far more restricted smut supply?

I'm just sort of stuck on the dumb idea that movies without sex scenes are "sexless" or without passion.

I mean modern movies ARE pretty low on even implied/non-explicit passion

Which movies? What movies? The dozens that pop every month? I think a lot of this conversation has a through a glass darkly quality considering the sheer volume of media we're drowning in.
