”How long will it be before the massive pivot back away from AI?” As a developer? Unless there are external factors like cost: pretty much never. The domains developers work in may differ, so the mileage may vary, but the quotes in the post isn’t particularly outlandish.

Oh yeah, because AI is going to know that I want to merge looter RPG elements with an exploration focused 2D action platformer with Sonic The Hedgehog style player physics and movement. Not to mention the deep story, human crafted levels, and a mixed art style that blends anime with Looney Tunes.

Yeah... I know enough about AI to know that the plagiarism machine won't be able to steal enough data to frankenstein together a prototype that even comes close to resembling the ideas in my head. I am too autistic to be estimated, my own brand of fuckedness that cannot be artificially recreated.

Epic Games sold their souls to the devil the moment they shelved Paragon and UT4 to push Fortnite. It is no surprise they are super pro-AI now....

I don't get the contrast. You either can wait months to prototype a game or have AI work on it this weekend? Why can't you prototype this weekend? Why did you need to wait to prototype? Did you have to wait for your sixth finger to get crusty & fall off before prototyping before?
