If Bankhead doesn't drop out by August 10 (I think?), her name will appear on the ballot in November, splitting the vote with Bodnar and almost certainly giving the seat to the Republican Alme. If you live in MT, please contact Bankhead's campaign and ask her to drop out.

As a Montanan I wish she would drop out. It is still an uphill battle, but Bodner has the best chance of winning. if she believes the things she says she does, and has enough personal insight to realize she can’t win, she would drop out. Sadly it seems she definitely lacks the latter.

My guess is that Bodnar’s numbers go down if an actual head-to-head materializes and he starts credibly getting painted as a DNC sleeper, but I would still like to find out for sure 🤷‍♂️

Possible, but he’s never been a Democrat and has friends and supporters on both sides of the aisle. After his military service he was President of U/Montana, which he did wildly successfully starting in his 30’s, and in that job you have to be extremely apolitical.

Bodnar is a centrist and a true Independent. He’s not faking anything, unlike some of these other cases. But he does detest Trump with the heat of a thousand suns and will never vote for John Thune for Maj Leader. After that he can do whatever he likes.

The bottom line for me. If the Dem candidate can't defeat the republican, as this poll indicates, than an independent who can defeat the republican and might vote sometimes with the Dems is still better than another MAGA Republican
