One notable thing is how linear the approval & disapproval ratings are as a function of time. I worked it out the other day ... for the past 16 months it's like 27,000 people change their mind about Trump each day - at a fairly steady pace. Are presidential ratings declines always like this?

As you better than most know, very difficult for 2nd term prez to recover from low approvals. Even with favorable policies/economic conditions fatigue sets in. Electorate just gets tired of them.

How does this compare to GW Bush at this time in his second term? I know we're in a more polarized environment now, but that's the floor example I always think of in terms of "how low can it go?"

I am very (pleasantly) surprised that his approval keeps dropping. His base is starting to chip away. I would like to think they are abandoning him because of his gross criminality, but more likely it is fuel prices. Diesel prices hit MAGAts especially.
