I just attended Stand By Me Day on Brownsville, OR. What a fun event! 40th Anniversary 2026

Best coming of age movie of all time.

Just recently watched this w my 13 yo son. It’s still just a perfect film!

Saw the screening where the actors talk about it afterwards. All the inside stories were amazing

I used to be able to quote this movie from beginning to end. Probably still can. It was, in the early 90s, my “comfort movie”. I rented it 1 billion times from blockbuster until I finally got it for myself.

Reiner was such an amazing and versatile director. Some of my favorite movies!

I never pass by when channel surfing. Among the Top 15, a perfect film. And a Stephen King adaptation - for the bonus.

I cannot believe we have lost such talent, all because this country refuses science-based solutions for addiction and alcoholism. Our mental health industry is utterly without shame.

I rewatched this with my 2 teenage daughters, they didn’t like it and commented on how it was a ‘boys movie’ and upon reflection I think they’re right

I used to show it to my Year 9 form class every year - Year 9 being their first year in Secondary school/college in NZ. Yes it had an R13 rating then - but they knew how to laugh at “You use your left hand or your right hand for that?"

This movie matched the mental picture I visualized as I read The Body, almost frame-for-frame. No other adaptation has ever come close.

Stand by Me, an excellent choice. This film has one of my all-time greatest lines . . .

Man, I love this movie. I was just today thinking about the line, "I'm gonna rip your head off and shit down your neck!"

One of my favorite movies of all time.

I generally don’t read a book that I’ve already read. Or watch a movie that I’ve already seen… But this is one of those glaring exceptions! Thank you & RIP Rob! 

Classic pick! That soundtrack is timeless and the chemistry between the kids is spot on. Such a nostalgic coming-of-age story.

Was pleasantly surprised to find this on this evening.

Rob was one of the good ones 😢 When asked about an All in the Family reboot shortly before his death, his reply was "Who needs a reboot? We got Archie in the White House!" Forever funny and on point.

one of my all-time favorites. such a fabulous movie. Reiner did an incredible job directing those young actors. I watch it at least once a year.
