I'm not even that big a deal on social media. I had 30k followers on X. Less than 1000 on Facebook. Only 26,000 on YouTube. It's kind of flattering that someone is going to such lengths to ban my voice, but it's going to backfire.

A threshold amount of those followers were likely the botnet accounts reporting your account/posts. Has been happening to me for over a decade on multiple platforms. And the bots also dilute the actual discussion, thus hindering real communication to real people.

In the past days, there's been a sudden aggressive campaign of fake accounts filing serial false "copyright strike" complaints against the channel. They're obviously frivolous and designed to deplatform, and YouTube is playing along. (I sent an email to the Google media team, etc. They don't care.)

Same thing happened to my Craigslist account 7 years ago. I reported a scam and then the scammer retaliated with a botnet that auto-reports every listing I make with as many different accounts as it takes for Craigslist to automatically remove the listing. Tested again, still happening 7 years later

If you get three such complaints, you get deleted. These folks are filing complaints every day. We license our images and assets or get them from creative commons/public domain. But the sheer volume of false complaints has overwhelmed our ability to respond. It's clearly an op of some kind.

Apparently, you're supposed to tweet at YouTube to get their attention of matters like these...BUT I'm also banned from X!!!

The social media companies can’t be bothered to hire humans very much ceo what’s another yacht, so they ban algorithmically and they unban manually So keep politely asking. if you have prominent friends, especially with large accounts, you might ask them if they have any contacts at Google

I've seen it happen to 100K+ accounts but eventually they manage to get a human to fix it. The problem seesm to be YouTube's default reaction is aggressive and favors the accounts claiming copyright violations. IMO this is because they are too lazy to validate if accounts are real or not.

That reminds me of Church of Scientology tactics, weaponizing IP law to suppress criticism. I guess it's a badge of honor, though it gets me angry to see you deplatformed. It's unsurprising to see Google blindly following rules, but there should be some recourse.

Why does it surprise you? When the Orange Spirochaetal Clown has tech bro photo ops, Sundar Pichai is always in the picture. You think Google doesn't grovel before Dear Leader's regime & won't do anything to avoid antagonizing them or, ultimately, do anything asked of them?

Maybe we aren't yet at a point of official requests taking YouTube creators down (thus Durán describes the usual methods to take someone down rather than a request from high up). It's coming, though. We have creators now who are, basically, called out as enemies at whitehouse.gov. That's not normal.

"wrote a book so good the broligarchy are trying to sabotage its distribution" is a pretty awesome lifetime achievement ❤️ #ArmageddonCapitalism
