If and when we make it through this we need a constitutional convention, because the fact that this insane person hasn’t been impeached and removed 47 times over — and indeed that no one ever has in 238 years — proves the mechanism DOES NOT WORK.

Maybe we could start with amendments to give things like the Emoluments Clause and parts of the 14th Amendment teeth. Add things to codify and enforce the "norms" Trump and SCOTUS have shattered. Make the VRA Constitutional.

I suppose there could be upsides But I think it's overly optimistic to believe that the benefits would outweigh the costs And I don't think we need to idolize the Framers to say that

I agree in severe reform BUT the far right has been planning and seeking a constitutional convention for several decades. They would love for you to throw them in the briar patch. Be careful what you wish for or at least come prepared for the fight they clearly think they can win
