Best part about the bullshit Alberta separatist referendum failing isn't just that it failed, but that it failed in EVERY riding, even in places where it wasn't a complete landslide. Albertans never wanted this.

From a non Canadian/non American perspective, the media definitely made this seem like a bigger movement than it actually turned out to be

At the moment, Grande Prairie-Wapiti is showing 62% voting to leave. But only 3 of 81 reporting so far, hasn't moved in the last half hour, so it's one to watch. Central Peace is also flipping back and forth around 50%. And as expected, support is not nothing in the rural areas, compared to urban.

But just like in America, in another few years, the moronic -- but undeniably vocal -- 30% of the population will completely lose all memory of their ineptitude, and unleash another wave of whatthefuckery on an unsuspecting population.

This would have been an interesting story to follow if the American news wasn't so utterly fucked up that I don't have the spoons to pay attention to other countries

I remember the "day" after they voted for Brexit, the majority polled against it. Not even the people who voted for it wanted it to succeed; so much for the most successful separatist movement in modern history. And now people have seen how that turned out, who's going to want more?

Yeah, the anti-immigrant ones are resulting accordingly, but the anti-Canada ones are mostly ending up pro-Canada. Albertans sure don't like immigrants but they don't wanna leave Canada about it.

Such a wild time to do it as well, like… at least from the outside it has felt since the US trade bs like Canadians are, while still disagreeing with each other, pretty damn united on _being Canadian_.
