That’s wonderful! Years ago a little old lady asked me to reach up to get her a copy of the Daily Mail and I said to her “I will but please don’t believe what you read in it, it has been known to be economical with the truth”. She was embarrassed, but claimed she only bought it for the TV guide.🙄

I've had to give up a volunteer role on a community radio station reading the news verbatim (sans editorial) from a range of newspapers including the local Murdoch rag. Opinion pieces were vile, then some of the supposed news articles were also opinion but not disclosed as such. It was too much.

What a brilliant note. These should appear on every newspaper vendors stand. There are one or two papers worthy of reading but regrettably very few. How journalists of integrity write for these papers is a mystery to me.

The government should force the regulator to put a boiler plate page like this on all newspapers when they are fined or need to legally post a retraction. It would never be off the front of some papers and it mean their retractions etc are seen instead of being buried in the pages.
