Want a simple measure of walkability for your city? Really know your councils travel priorities? Where to visit for a grass green walkable paradise? Or to keep away from sewer brown car dominated concrete sprawls. You heard of the Bigmac Index, now we have the Decathlon Index… decathlonindex.app

RFK jr is an asshole (but we already knew that). Moreover, he's wrong. Why is algebra called that? Who gave us the digit 0 (zero)? And our current number system? Why is the star Betelgeuse called that, for that matter? And so on.

RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."

This. Just ask the lad who hired EdFoC’s e-cargo bike, got an EST loan for one after falling in love with it, and wound up running this account 😂

Our experience of hiring out our cargo bike over the last 11 years, is that when people have the opportunity to try a cargo bike, they like it and want to buy one, sadly ScotGov does not seem interested in trying to lower the barriers to cargo bike ownership, this is a massive-missed opportunity.

Sinclair Research would like to clarify that the ZX Spectrum is not a toy. It is a serious business computer that happens to be the same size as a paperback novel, costs less than a bicycle, and is used almost exclusively by children to play Horace Goes Skiing.

And perhaps even more importantly, if you REALLY want even MORE bike-riders to obey laws, build more protected bike infrastructure. Via @carltonreid.com

In many ways, govt already accepted defeat to our enemies, as the BBC warned last yr: "Two years ago, the BBC closed its Arabic radio service in favour of its digital-based service... That same year Russia's Sputnik started a 24-hour service in Lebanon, occupying the airwave vacated by BBC Arabic."

Standing charges are mad. My mum paid: £5 / last quarter gas bill £28 / last quarter for the standing charge Single person discounts should apply, like with council tax.

I saw that my local Labour MP was promoting a similar viewing. Fantastic greenwashing opportunity for Labour MPs. Shameful hypocrites. Dont believe anything they say. Actions demonstrate their true values and priorities. Dr Scott Arthur. Always thinking of the drivers. And fossil drilling friends.

Today's decision by Labour to approve new drilling in the North Sea is climate vandalism. It's a betrayal of all of our futures, and Labour has abandoned all credibility in the fight against climate change. This is a victory for Shell over the people. www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cw...

Enjoyed seeing this woman's work. Sustainability isn't just about producer decisions, but also consumer decisions, namely their willingness to repair things when needed. This type of repair is easier on natural fibers, rather than stretch fabrics. Consider that when shoppping. IG loosethreadsrepair

The Energy Secretary says North Sea drilling “won’t take a penny off energy bills.” The Health Secretary says summer heatwaves put pressure on the NHS. So where’s the Government’s impact assessment? If they don’t have one, they should delay the decision on drilling for oil & gas until they do.

This feels like what the Colinton Rd cycleway could be. A route from the burbs, near the ring road, to the centre of the city. Providing a vital link for commuters, students and more. @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social @stephenjenkinson.bsky.social any thoughts?

Anyone not coming by car can fuck off to our website. Where… we will repeat the directions by car, mention something about coaches. And say nothing about trains, cycling or walking. YHA this is rubbish.
