We're coming up on primaries. If you feel like the candidates you have in general elections do not represent you, now is the time to get involved. I don't want to hear anyone who didn't support a primary campaign complaining in November about their options. Seriously go look up who's running now.

& if no one is running who speaks to your issues, RUN YOURSELF! Campaigns are as much about educating the public about issues & policy as they are about winning. I can't find the exact quote, but in The West Wing Pres Bartlet says that campaigns are about making politicians create better policy.

Call your Dem Hq. Print Sample Ballot Ask folks at Dem Hq who they’re recommending and why? Ask about non-partisans (judges/school admin, etc) where they don’t tell you what party they are. Ask who is best for your safety/neighborhoods. Mark the sample ballot (put it under the visor of your car)

We should be challenging most elected Democrats in most elections for most offices. From Dog Catcher to Mayor to US Senator to President: Every candidate that fails to deliver for working Americans should be primaried from the left. Every. Single. Time. We have to create consequences for failure.

Sure, but having crap candidates in November will generate complaints. I won't vote for candidates who back genocide in Israel, and I'd rather not vote for candidates who oppose universal health care. Those are super majority positions for blue voters and the party needs to wake the hell up.

Then vote in the Primaries for people who will do just that, and if those people win, vote for them. Even if they aren't there, it's better to have a shitlib (or whatever the fuck they're called, I just call them Neoliberals) than a GOP representative, even if only by a little.

I supported a local guy to run against the GOP rep in a swing district. But the DNC powers that be selected someone else. I find her less electable and not very well spoken - but what so I know.

Pick and vote in the primary for the candidate that fits your principals. if the candidate you chose doesn't win, make sure to let them know what you expect of them, loudly, and often, and if they have policies that don't fit, demand they change them to earn your vote.
