I spend so much time on platforms with people that are aggressively anti AI that every so often I have to go check out what the pro AI people are up to for some balance. As annoyed as I get with the witch hunting and posturing, oh my god the slop slingers are absolutely cooked.

These people genuinely believe hard work and commitment to a craft is dumb and a waste of time. You have absolutely no chance of convincing them not to use AI, they are convinced they are really achieving something. To them volume and speed are more important than care and attention to detail.

There's also like this weird vibe that artists are elite gatekeepers? Like artists are some how keeping these people from learning to create art.

It's music. Music doesn't have meaning, it's just sounds. It's not connected to the real world. That's why "Born in the USA" can be used to celebrate America, or "Fortunate Son" as a military recruiting song.

I may be biased but I just saw gyrofield drop one of the most forward thinking, completely unpredictable, and flawlessly paced 2 hour sets I've ever seen. Nights like tonight are what push me to try to make my music more unapologetically me.

Maybe I should just use this as a place to announce new music or whatever. I don't know. Giving myself space makes it clear this is not a healthy place to regularly spend time when every time I log back in it's people stirring the pot.
