regardless of what your opinions are on this one, an extremely core part of the problem is that anyone is relying on zuckerberg social media at all as an example, everyone wanted to run over to threads from twitter, and well...you reap what you sow

People demanding Zuck be hauled before Congress to explain why No Kings insta was suspended... how would you feel if MAGA GOP hauled MSNow execs to explain why they covered Trump the way they do? Both are editorial choices protected by the First Amendment. If this annoys you...

I aggressively maintain that Zuck should be hauled into Congress as part of a brutal *anti-trust* push against Meta. We should break up all these different amalgamations into individual companies, and then separately mandate some level of interoperability

(Meta need not, and should not, be the only target of this push. My deepest wish for a 2029 administration would be to wield an anti trust hammer in a way that we’ve never seen before, and strikes fear into the heart of oligarchs everywhere)

"but they need to expand reach" sure, so you maintain presences on those other platforms and redirect interested parties to platforms not controlled by zuckerberg. it isnt that complicated, especially when you have the amount of reach no kings has

If you want to actually be confident that your platform is your own, post exactly 3 things on centralized social media: 1. Headline 2. Website 3. atproto handle (with same domain as your website) Content goes on 2 & 3. It isn’t that you *must* leave those platforms, but you shouldn’t count on them.
