speaking of japan's evil prime minister she had like a 60-80% approval rating last year lmao and it of course immediately started cratering the second she implemented all the policies she said she was gonna do all along. the lesson is in all countries globally have the same median voter brain

Some of the policies she can't realistically implement anyways. Shit like putting food tax down to 1% is fucking with lots of businesses and people are wondering how it'd possibly be funded. Just another dumbass populist neolib shithead.

I get the vibe Shu Takumi looking at Japan and Britain with Great Ace Attorney, then coming to the conclusion "spiritually our countries are near identical and Not In A Good Way" was a very astute observation of his

Like i for sure need to do lots more reading about it but the easy explanation has to be the exploitation right? Like you cant have this shit happen in japan, colombia and england without it being an issue of how much time people have to engange politically

This has been happening in Argentina basically since the last dictatorship ended and the main issue seems to be that followed by heavy media olygopolies and other less comprehensible individual stuff

Argentina in a nutshell too. And the guy had literally promised to leave organ trafficking "to the market"! In fact there has been a MASSIVE wave of this shit happening spreading through every single country since we let it happen. It was like the politics equivalent of GamerGate 🤔🤔🤔

Nothing. Her entire campaign was just trump's strategy of talking about a lot of things and having no coherent political point and the average voter thought she had so much aura they just had to put her in office

The main thing I remember was when she called herself the Japanese Iron Lady (in reference to Margaret Thatcher) and I guess Japan was completely unaware of how she's widely reviled and people here still want to piss on her grave decades later

From what I've seen, Trump is mainly infamous and mocked in Japan because he's wildly unprofessional, which probably says a lot in itself.
