Sony century of humiliation I guarantee that Sony saw the numbers that the "final" destiny update did and realised that they fucked up big time with the layoffs so now they are backtracking. it sucks so much to see so many talented people jobless.

It's also funny that the content they're putting out to prove they're not done with Destiny is the exact kind of content you put our before putting the game in maintenance mode. I played PSO2, I would know

Isn't it less of "they deleted it" and more of "they updated the engine so much the old stuff no longer works" Like, they have all the content it's just completely unusable since they didn't maintain old core builds but the content exists, it just needs to be completely overhauled.

yeah I'm cautiously optimistic but I've always been with destiny stuff, except the level of caution hasn't been this low for me since like D2 year 2

I’ve been wondering for a while if bungie leadership was so shortsighted they never even seriously considered doing destiny 3, or if they just missed their window and by the time they pitched it to Sony the response was “get marathon’s Numbers up first”

finally getting destiny unvaulting, something i’ve wanted for years, but as a too late gesture to fans for cheap goodwill after laying everyone off is such a cruel joke

“We’re making it so there’s no in-game way for a new player to figure out why the fuck they’re here” is still one of the craziest, most foot-shootingest corporate decisions ever made

The only explanation I can think of that even kind of makes sense is that a key decision maker was convinced FOMO would boost player numbers and absolutely refused to be persuaded otherwise.

I, one of bungie’s most stalwart defenders, found myself asking ‘with what devs?’ many times during that article and video. Marathon might be possibly be saved, but destiny is dead until they can make a d3, to which I again ask ‘with what fucking devs?’. All this is gonna do is empower the whiners.

Physical releases don't include source code. They include machine code which is a translation of the source code into something the computer actually recognizes. This is why decompiling is usually a decades long procedure.
