it's so funny they managed to do what 343 couldn't with halo--make an actual interesting sequel with a compelling direction for future entries then they spent half a decade avoiding any sort of progress or conclusion

i was legitimately shocked to wander into the Dragon Quest 3 2DHD community forum when that game was new to find that literally all anyone wanted to talk about was "censorship" (the female hero's tiny sprite had its breast size reduced) "wokeness" (type a/b bodies instead of male/female)

The Final Fantasy Legend/SaGa collection includes a "some things about this game have changed from the original version" splash screen and the Steam forum is basically just people explaining that it means "copyrighted names were changed and a nuclear power plant was removed" over and over.

Gears is kinda like 40k in the sense that it is full of fascist imagery and narratives, but it's also constantly beating you over the head that this society would fucking suck ass to live in So I'd say that it is very much not fascist, but it def can appear that way

It’s hilarious to me when they praise Left 4 Dead and its sequel for “not being woke.” They do see that the first game has a woman who’s dressed sensibly and a black man, right? And the second game not only has a black man, but a black woman?
