Anyone else going as Pumpkin Hill from Sonic Adventure 2 for Halloween this year or just me? 🎃⛰️ The costume has a treasure hunting minigame where you can move Knuckles across the “level” and the radar necklace will blink as you get closer to the hidden emerald in the pockets 💎 I love Halloween!!

Not only is Video Game Esoterica (@videogameesoterica.bsky.social) so asleep at the wheel that he's peddling ports with malware in them now, but when called out on that he decides to try and play Internet Tough Guy... then backpedals into "haha you mad 😂" shit. Truly a blight on retro gaming.

The Super Mario Galaxy PC port (Nebula, not AstroCore) has gotten a bunch of updates and is now ready to talk about! Because why not more Mario youtu.be/WG1TfYQu7vs #gaming #gamingnews #retrogames

arcade game discourse is actually funny because every self proclaimed advocate talks about them like the average person can't understand em homie I put a quarter into the Metal Slug machine, I see the first boss then eat shit and have a good time

the whole design space of arcade games is designed to get people in and out quickly, let them see cool shit and feel awesome, then decide how much more effort, time and money they want to put in to see the rest of it

but every dude in the space is like "there is one correct way to design and play arcade games, and that's the one that's my exact preference" and they wonder why people can't get into a genre that was made for the widest possible appeal to start with

to give you an idea of the power level you're given, in the original Gunvolt 3, Gunvolt was a limited time power up state you played that could shred bosses or skip platforming entirely his moveset is basically unchanged AND you get another character who is just as powerful and has his own lifebar

Here at the Shinra office, overheard a new employee talking about video games. Turned around and told them that I have faith in three companies, the three B's: Bethesda, Bioware, and Blizzard. He turned his head away with a huge grin on his face as he said, "Yeah, those are pretty strong companies"

the USB C situation is ridiculous i needed a USB C 3.0 cable for my capture card and it was easier to just buy another one than find out that was actually compatible in my huge pile of cords i kid you not i have like 100 USB C cords and all the ones i tried did not work

we should all be pissed off at this btw. if not because sex work is legitimate work and should be treated with respect, then because you should be concerned at attempts to gentrify online spaces as pretext to court investors and force out minorities so those spaces can become part of a portfolio.

My PC-98 inspired yuri visual novel "if you stay" is OUT NOW! It is available for free on Steam and itch.io (Windows, Mac, and Linux). Links below!

been playing the JP release of this and it's pretty darn good they went absurd with the screen effects, turning it into an intentionally glitches out mess as your shots escalate in power, as if it's so powerful it's breaking the game

out now globally: Cotton Reboot High Tension! (PS4/5—Switch), Rocket Studio's original sequel to Cotton Reboot: a new second player-character, both more and less insane pachislot-esque screen vomit, two soundtracks by Hiroyuki Kawada & YMCK, etc (they advertised a Steam release too but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

My game – Ace & Aro: Heart-to-Heart – is a short, narrative experience where you attend an a-spec meetup, chat to characters, hear their stories, and play mini-games! The demo is set one night before the events of the full game. Try it out: store.steampowered.com/app/5213300/...

store.steampowered.comAce & Aro: One Night Early on SteamWelcome to the Ace & Aro Meetup! Oh, wait a minute...you're one night early! Well, since you came all this way, why not take a look around the barcade and try a cocktail? We could have a chat abou...

"SUPER SOFTWARE FOR HAPPY PEOPLE." What a cute Druaga-themed paper bag from the heyday of its 80s popularity. Dempa Microcomputer Software ported quite a few arcade hits to Japanese computers, so it's likely a promo item from them.
