My vacbot does okay, because it's a unitasker, and has no pretentions of being in any way animal. It's also pretty cute, but that's just human pet-bonding talking.

And conversely, a robot that could actually fold laundry could look like a pile of rubbish and sell out immediately!

We have successfully automated house work in the part: dishwasher, clothes washer, dryer, robot vacuum cleaner, and more. None of these are pretending to be a human, though
