"omg GW did something right". Yeah, the company that owns a whole genre and millions of peoples' free time, for whom better or more innovative games are like pets living in its house, whose imagery has influenced or flat out driven media for decades, is smart about AI.

The actual breaking point is Chapterhouse trial. It has nothing to do with harassment, and everything with the taking credit for others' work.

Will the fact that it was developed in post-2022 Russia change your mind? It is really something you should be aware of when making that choice.

One of the core tenets of their faith is no A.I., or abominable intelligence. They've instead spent the last 20k years or so sticking human brains to run stuff instead, because last time humanity fucked with AIs it ended in the collapse of civilization.

Not really, it's more like they both took from Foundation. ComStar is much closer to Foundation than it is to 40k, with the invented religion meant to preserve technology and expand their influence.

Though , idk , they aren't textually literally that but at the same time , allegorically they sort of are. They also kind of represent tech bros who don't actually know much about technology in a representative sense.

And it's not just that they aren't using it, it's that they don't even think it's worth it. No trying to bargain about use cases, no warming us up for future usage, just straight-up "yeah I guess it's on our radar, but let's be real it kinda sucks."
