Hello, Bluesky! I'm a nerd whose main interests are a story from 2015 about a socially-awkward time-traveller and her headstrong companion who dies many times, and a story from 2015 about a socially-awkward time-traveller and his headstrong companion who dies many times. #LifeIsStrange #DoctorWho

I normally enjoy the emails that Pinterest sends me, as I get to wonder why they recommend so many things I have no interest in whatsoever ... but alas, their algorithm has finally achieved a complete understanding of what I like.

Hell yeah Canada should absolutely take BioWare Nationalize that shit. Let’s get some Krogan babies slated for 2028

As competing movies about 19th-century stage magicians, released within months of each other, turn 20 this year, Brian Raftery considers the lasting spell of Christopher Nolan’s The Prestige and Neil Burger’s The Illusionist. Read the full Deep Impact appreciation on Journal: boxd.it/k9C

I'm watching this at the moment, and I love seeing so many people asking for the "I'm so glad you're my partner in crime" / "As long as you're my partner in time" exchange... ...but I'm gutted that so far, no-one has asked for the subsequent "Insert groan here."

Life Is Strange stars Hannah Telle (Max Caulfield) and Ashly Burch (Chloe Price) have reunited. 😭 #LIS #LifeIsStrange

Today I learned that HMS Dreadnought - the battleship whose name inspired an entire class of ships, and dozens of sci-fi authors too - never took part in a major naval battle, was sold for scrap 15 years after it launched, and only destroyed a single submarine (by ramming it).

So, that recent "Star Wars does XCOM" game was pretty good? And the new "Star Wars does Burnout" game is good, too? Huh. Well, if you happen to have a license to make Star Wars games and are looking for your next idea...

I must admit, the more I think about "Star Wars does Metal Gear Solid", the more I like it. Death Star Solid Death Star Solid 2: Sons of the Republic Death Star Solid 3: Sun Crusher. Death Star Solid 4: Blasters of the Empire. Death Star Solid V: The Phantom Menace.

...Well, now I'm GLAD I didn't get around to watching it at the cinema.

My favourite bit of the Odyssey (& ok, I’m not sure it’s in Homer’s original) is the cyclops being tricked into thinking Odysseus is called “Nobody” so goes on shouting “Nobody blinded me!” etc so his fellow Cyclopes don’t help him. And Nolan left it out 🤷‍♂️

My nephew and niece will have the opportunity to start watching Doctor Who at a far younger age than I did ... now THAT'S what I call progress. ...Wait, hang on; there's a character called Toast-IE? That robot is a talking toaster?! Did we learn NOTHING from Red Dwarf?!

Has there ever been a Doctor Who story about people substituting human capabilities with machine replacements that lack any genuine human feeling or emotion? If they did, remind me, was it good or bad?

The BBC's new director general has described a 50-minute AI-generated episode of Doctor Who as "pretty good," and suggested that the technology now enabled the creation of content "at the standard of a Hollywood studio." https://bit.ly/4rD8rmh

🤡 Schmitt beclowns himself 🤡 Schmitt concocted an elaborate conspiracy theory that Smith traveled to Atl for a Hawks game and to collude with Fani Willis, & flashed his "evidence" before accusing Smith of perjury. There's just one problem -- his facts were totally wrong. Here's the whole sequence:

I wasn't expecting a Canoness from the Adepta Sororitas to show up in an episode of As Time Goes By - but now that I think about it, I'm convinced that every sitcom should try it at least once.

I'll admit it; my happiness for the critical success of Ace Combat 8 is 10% directed to the people who actually made the game, and 90% to my eternal hope that aerial combat games will become so popular that the G-Police games get a remaster and/or sequel.

A trailer for 'G-Police' on the PlayStation.

Replaying Rebirth, I noticed that Aerith doesn't have any dialogue prior to this (optional) interaction, so this was probably her first utterance in the game for a lot of players.

#SFFChat You can't go wrong with the classic stories by Terry Pratchett and Douglas Adams, they were geniuses. I read a lot of Indies atm. I really enjoy when my author friends add in little tidbits just for fun. A character's name, or ship, or place that I know from things. I find those amusing.

Somebody once said... Something. I forget what. But it got me thinking about a GTA game set in the world of Sean Baker's The Florida Project and how sick that would be. All the missions would involve the tourism industry and the finale would be a raid on Disney World.
