While some can be annoying, many grievances are justified. Someone reminded me recently of the quote: "Too often these days I find myself in the position of defending someone I think is annoying from someone I know is dangerous" Danger comes from the misinformation used to strip minority rights away

Any zen mode should remove the antagonistic garbage that you post

There are uncountable numbers of people that hate themselves and extend that hate to those that have things in common with them. In a similar but opposite way, I'm sure lots of Chinese people are ashamed of sharing their ethnia with you.

Have they tried being more zen about it?

That person should obviously go in zen mode.

And then apologize for not apologizing correctly, and then thank them for educating you on how to properly apologize, then promise to try to do better, then apologize for centering your own voice in apology. They're super-fun at parties, I bet.

Or at the very least, use existing policies to label it as the hate that it is.

As Mexican-American, I used to get piled on for not going along with ’Latinx’ in US. But felt like this was just sanitizing bits of language, because in Spanish ALL mixed-gender nouns’ plurals default to male... We were already imposed a different language once. Ironically Nahuatl is gender neutral
