There are more of us than there are of them. Thank you for a truly historic day of peaceful protests across America. #NoKings

From Portland, Oregon here ... Thank you to everyone who stood up yesterday for decency, the rule of law, a living Constitution, Bill of Rights and a democracy in which everyone has a voice. I could not be more proud to be part of this powerful and historical movement. 💙

Amazing turn out in Gurnee, IL! The cacophony of horns is still resonating. I was particularly impressed by the brave showing from the latin community, despite the increased presence of ICE. IMO, the government’s actions in Chicagoland and, in particular, Broadview were major contributing factors.

I’m incredibly proud and thankful for everyone that showed up, helped organize, or stood in solidarity. They mistakenly think non-violence is weakness but we know power resides in our collective humanity. ❌👑✊

Since there is no evidence of an organization called ‘Antifa’, is it time to be brave enough to own the name? Most Americans are against authoritarianism, when they see it in action. The number who are actual fascists is a very small percentage, but buffered by still blinded cult followers

Cynthia needs to raise $300 before tomorrow -- otherwise she won't be able to have a caregiver this week. She has end stage heart and lung disease and is unable to do ANYTHING, including use the bathroom, without assistance. Please donate NOW. I just did. www.gofundme.com/f/donate-to-...

As Atrios points out, violence at demonstrations is very often the result of instigation by the police. Despite the quiet presence of local police at virtually all of the demonstrations, they didn't cause any violence. This is a very hopeful sign.

The dems cannot bring any articles of impeachment to the floor of the House, let alone pass them, as they are the minority and Johnson will not bring it to a vote. The senate would not convict him as there are not enough (any?) republican senators who would vote to impeach him.

Congrats from Europe! Never forget: John Locke on the "Right to Resist": If a government becomes tyrannical and violates the people's rights, they have the right to resist. Only the people can judge whether resistance is justified, not the authorities against which they are rebelling. #Booksky

OK. Now we have had a successful second No Kings protest all across the country that was peaceful and which did, indeed, prove the numbers that are steadily increasing in opposition to Trump(ism). What could be the follow up? Perhaps an organized general strike? Not paying fed taxes in 2026?

There needs to be continued protest/resistance. But at what point do "the people" really start to make demands for change and not relent until they achieve their goals? "The people" need an organized effort to ratchet up pressure to petition their demands and begin seeking the changes they want.

Uh ... dunno about that. My take is there are maybe 30M regretful Rs, with at least that many left-handers. That's the majority: centrist folks in search of a political party for and of modern realistic people.
