Internet radio is an alternative -- there's smartphone apps for every style. The NPR app allows access to all NPR stations, some of them specializing in pop-rock, jazz, folk, or classical. bsky.app/profile/gvgo...

DAYLOG FRI 14 NOV 25 / INTERNET RADIO REVISITED: Back in October, I discussed my discovery of and tinkerings with internet radio here. Now I've reached a stable state and have a system that works for me. [1/more]

I saw an ICE ad on YouTube today. It was very distressing because my wife and I get 80% of our entertainment on YouTube and I watch news broadcasting etc. on it. We don’t pay for premium but I guess they get ad revenue when we watch stuff. Any suggestions. This would be a very hard thing to loose.

You boycott media because of the evils it enables, I boycott media because I can't afford it in this economy. (Seriously, haven't been able to pay for even Netflix in almost a decade, haven't seen a movie in as much time either.) We are not the same, but I think we're not that separated.

I’m lucky to live in Queens where the Queens Public Library is fantastic. They will mail books or DVDs to you if you don’t have transportation. Do you have thrift shops? There is a used book store near me that is clerked by adults on the autism spectrum. The most expensive book there is $4.00.

Can't recall what for exactly, but I stopped using them some time ago because of something highly offensive and disturbing they were involved in---I think carrying a right-winger podcast after he continually used hate speech against marginalized groups.
