The other woman waiting here has been waiting since 8 AM. That means 3 scheduled buses have not come. We’ve now seen 2 westbound 72M buses go past. They are supposed to turn around in Pt Richmond and then head back this way.

See that CERT vest? A good time to get involved and trained is *before* the next disaster. Are you involved in organized neighbors, CERT, or other voluntary helpfulness?

People whose only motivation for not doing bad things is avoiding punishment should be kept away from all positions where they wield power to hurt others. He completely lacks any moral compass and doesn’t even understand the concept.

Today I signed an Executive Order for every worker exposed to extreme heat on the job. It requires multilingual heat safety guidance for workers, a review of construction site heat safety practices, and heat illness prevention plans at every mayoral agency.

KQED radio reported that PGE and other CA utilities are spending 12 mil to defeat Steyer and have endorsed Becerra. So, if you're following the money in this race, this news item may help you decide who to vote for.

Judge me by my enemies. Corporations like Chevron, PG&E, and Meta are spending nearly $50 million against me—and only me—because I'm the only candidate who will take on the corporate interests ripping off working people and families. Game on.

I aopteciate writing by hand and typing for different purposes. I also know that literacy is not the only way to learn and remember things. The oral tradition of passing along knowledge and wisdom has had great success where it’s embedded in culture.

Handwriting isn’t just “slower typing.” EEG studies show writing by hand recruits broader sensorimotor, visual, memory, and attentional networks than typing the same words. The brain learns through movement too, not only through information. 🧠✍️ #neuroskyence #neuroscience #brain #EEG #words

Today I stood in solidarity with UNITE HERE Local 11 and their members at Sofi Stadium, which include the stadium’s janitors, dishwashers, servers, bartenders and cooks. Together we called on FIFA and KSE, the owner of Sofi Stadium, to demand that ICE play no role in the World Cup.

US Agriculture Secretary Rollins: “The good news is that 4.5 million more people are now food insecure (most of them children) in the United States.” That is essentially the gist of her real quote. This is frighteningly the type of achievement the regime is constantly bragging about.

Ag Secretary Rollins: "The good news -- in just one year alone, we've already moved 4.5 million people off of SNAP. So this idea that once a government program is in place you can never roll it back, President Trump has proven that to be wrong. So we're going to be pulling more and more people off."

That one person can drag us into a war without consulting or even notifying Congress beforehand, or our allies, or coherently explain to the American people why this is necessary, is absolutely bonkers. Reminder that Congress has the power to stop this.

So far the war in Iran has cost an estimated $5.5 billion. That's roughly $1 billion per day. $41,666,667 per hour. $11,574 per second. People do not want this. They want a living wage. They want healthcare. They want to be able to afford a home. They want their basic needs met.

We've all got our gripes about DC Dems, but mine is: why the fuck aren't they saying "Stephen Miller is really the president" or "I hear Stephen Miller jokes about how Trump will sign anything". It took like two days of "Elon is really the president" before he was banned from the white house!

Imagine if the oligarchs, dictators, & wannabe world rulers turned their apparently insatiable ambition to working toward climate solutions instead of making wars & harassing people. What if we could put them on the frontlines of the wildfires? Would they be able to change their priorities?

Yes! We can get so much done locally, even while things are going backwards at the federal or state level. And we can succeed and build models for other places. That’s why I feel so fulfilled working at @bikeeastbay.bsky.social and serving on the El Cerrito City Council. We’re making real change!

Despite what we are often told, this line from Mamdani’s inauguration speech is what true pragmatism actually looks like: “Beginning today, we will govern expansively and audaciously. We may not always succeed. But never will we be accused of lacking the courage to try.”

This is exactly what one would expect. The hatefilled, fear-mongering, mean-spirit ed set are really good at reaching out to people desperate to feel a sense of belonging and power. We who believe in love need to do better at countering their efforts.
