What is the BBC's justification for maintaining this level of coverage of Reform now it has slipped into third place?

Alex Andreou@sturdyalex.bsky.social

BBC News just interrupted its coverage to go, live, to Nigel Farage - a man with no contitutional standing in our setup - responding to the budget - a document which nobody has seen yet. WHY

Bolsonaro's loss is not just a loss for Bolsonaro. It's a loss for Trump. For Musk. For Milei. For Netanyahu. For Farage. For Meta and Zuckerberg. For the meat barons, the fossil fuel corporations, and the rest of the neocolonial looters. And it is a massive win for humanity and the living planet.

Years of campaigning to get information from B&NES Planning on the impact on transport, retail and ecology in east Bath. So many people helped with their objections. Thanks to everyone! People still need help with the cost of living and cheaper food and we recognise that. #Lidl #GreenParty #BathUK

This is the point. Until AI is out of the hands of fascists and white supremacists, we should be keeping well clear.

I warned 3 years ago that mink farms are a likely route to a new and horrific human pandemic, and once more I'm fervently praying it doesn't map out that way. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Wild new story from @natlash.bsky.social Bird flu has been raging uncontrolled on a mink farm for two months. Flu experts fear it could spark a devastating human pandemic. But officials haven’t acted, instead prioritizing the financial interests of the fur trade. www.propublica.org/article/bird...

Muslims and immigrants, despite all the lies we're told about them, have never presented a systemic threat to Western security, let alone to "Western civilisation". Instead, the threats come from our governments, especially in the US, and their grim alliances with capital and overseas dictators.

Watched NAZA yesterday. At the end, there was total silence, other than the occasional sob. No one moved until the credits stopped rolling. It’s a film which the perpetrators of genocide confessed their crimes. One day that will happen from the dock.

Dreadful decision. The oil companies lied and lied about global warming. They knew what would happen but put profits first. This will not reduce your energy bills but will increase Shell’s profits. The plutocrats have won. Vote Green when you can like your life depends on it - because it does.

What about my children's lives? How does this help? FFS Labour you failed again

George Monbiot@georgemonbiot.bsky.social

Approving the Jackdaw gas field solves none of our problems, while contributing to the existential crisis of climate breakdown. The government has privileged special interests above the general interest. It's a shameful, cowardly decision.

#nuclear reduces and delays climate action. The very long nuclear development and build times means much longer fossil fuel burn. Nuclear too slow, too hazardous, too costly for #climate and #energy crises. The #GreenParty has taken a wrong turn on nuclear.

Rupert Lowe of Restore Britain says the electoral success of his political party would "inevitably" lead to civil unrest and rioting. His argument is increasingly that civil conflict has become unavoidable + absolutely necessary (if still partly regrettable + somewhat to be blamed on opponents)
