Drawing a line as an opposition has everything to do with signaling and the future, to say nothing of the tiny possibility that it builds a coalition that could include Republicans. Nobody wins any kind of support by being passive.

I’m not sure this is more than a gesture. I hope for the best, but have become duly cynical. ICE has a huge slush fund that it can operate from due to The BBB, so threats to shut it down ultimately only shut down the courts and other speed-bump type of mechanisms. I hope I’m misunderstanding this.😕

To me, this issue is linked with the SNAP debacle; both times it was clear what the American people want, and Schumer/Jeffries sold us all out. It makes me sick, and we need to bring up SNAP every single time this is discussed.

I hope to see Jeffries do Something-Anything effective…he seems so low energy and ineffective after Pelosi. But she seems to think he is good- let’s see it. And Schumer needs to retire yesterday IMO
