1960s Pedal Power Dublin cyclists turning left onto O'Connell Bridge from Eden Quay. "Sea of cyclists flows homeward after work: men in suits, women in skirts, bags swaying, wheels spin in unison."

you know what, part of me thinks ok, let them, let them make all this mandatory. then, after this fixes absolutely nothing, they might be forced to enforce rules on motorists and provide actual infrastructure. I mean, I know they won't but at least they will have run out of excuses.

“I encountered at least three people who could have been in an accident with me. They were driving in cycle lanes, facing their mobile phones, and in black cars.” Do something about cars and their drivers first. Make helmets and hi-viz mandatory and my bike will go through some minister's window!
