Either the EU comes out with their own report that evidences the UN one is wrong, or they accept the findings and back UN action. No more sitting on the fence (supporting Israel's war crimes).

UN report: "The Israeli authorities and forces have committed the crimes against humanity of extermination, torture, rape and other forms of sexual violence in the West Bank, as well as persecution based on intersecting discriminatory grounds, with nationality, race and ethnicity at its core."

BBC happily interviews lots of Zionists saying they are offended and fearful about Green Party rehashing a 1975 UN motion saying Zionism is racism But not Palestinians living in apartheid Israel about discrimination they face in jobs, housing, education every day of their lives meme via Dave Toller

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

Today is Intersex Awareness Day. I am intersex – and did not find out until I was 26! Intersex people are also impacted by the decision in FWS, but this is much less talked about. Intersex people continue to be subjected to non-consensual medical interventions. Intersex rights are human rights.

Was going to ask someone about their "FREE CUTLERY" wrist tattoo (I'm from Sheffield, I can't help it). Then they turned a bit and it said "CRUELTY FREE", which made a lot more sense in the context of a queer hairdressers. Wife has just congratulated me on not saying anything at the time.

Poppy Psychosis Season comes earlier and earlier every year it seems. The Irish History podcast did a good episode on the history of it in Ireland and people were having none of it as far back as 1919

My mother and sister both have careers I would describe as requiring professional-grade empathy. I consider them both experts at it. Many times, I’ve seen them educate people on the importance of respecting the bodily autonomy of children, most often via the advice: do not force them to hug.

This. I made sure to reply to consultations on dress code by pointing out that "professional" is used to enforce cis het white classist appearance and is a barrier to diversity strategies. Dunno if anyone actually used it but I did it anyway. Fuck the Daily Mail readers etc.

Relaxing of stuffy dress codes in office roles, tattoos piercings and funky hair dye no longer being job stoppers

Sadly unsurprised by the obliviousness of so many people to the principle of bodily autonomy and consent. So many men showing themselves out as threats. People feeling entitled to control another human's lived experience. My body, my choice isn't just a slogan.

The equivalent of every soul in the towns of Athlone, Portlaoise, Kenmare and then some combined being wiped out. Imagine the reaction if so many were murdered in a terrorist attack. Yet fossil fuels continue to be massively subsidised, and emissions to rise, because NOTHING must limit profit.

At least 50,000 heat deaths last summer. Imagine nearly all the people in a mid-size town dying over the course of a few months; Freising in Bavaria, or St. Pölten in Austria ...

What's that you say? A UK study aimed at proving that ADHD and autism are over-diagnosed actually found that we are still under-diagnosing both, and lack access to assessments remains a huge barrier to support? What a shocking and unexpected conclusion! www.politicsuk.com/p/fonagy-rev...

We all know why the government is against this. The pendulum has swung to the right. We know right across the world, attacks on the LGBTQI community are on the rise. A campaign of hatred of anyone seen as 'different' being whipped up by the far right.

Hysterical and predictable reaction to an advert on Liveline and earlier in the Dáil from the usual suspects. Text DRCC to 50300 to donate to DRCC. They really do fantastic work!

People who have experience working in charities know that being reliant on state funding has a chilling effect on how we do our jobs. The Minister for Justice intervened here to make a political point and undermined the work of those with the expertise to do the job. #spéirgorm

60 years ago today 144 people died in the Welsh village of Aberfan when a colliery spoil tip collapsed onto them. 109 of those were children attending the village school. A tragedy that broke hearts, which remain broken now. The strength and courage shown by that community is an example to us all.
