GDP is considered a poor measure of how well people are doing within a country. Headline GDP, even per capita, tells you very little. Not saying a unified Ireland is a bad idea, it's just not all sunshine and roses in the Republic.

Almost certainly. Although ironically, NI is doing better than the rest of the UK, largely because it's in the EU SM.
