multiple library cards! I am very close to returning my Kobo Libra Color (which I just got) because it can't handle multiple libraries — this is a feature that every other device that runs Libby does flawlessly

Overdrive support on Kobo for more countries where libraries use Overdrive (e.g. Ireland with Dun Laoghaire Rathdown library)

Multi library support! I bought a kobo and returned it last summer because I found out that this feature stopped working. I have 8 libraries as I live in several places. Currently still with kindle and considering moving to pocketbook since they have Libby app integration.

Since you’re at it, could you please advocate with us for @libbyapp.com to drop support for AI generated slop and AI features on their app since it’s stupid and it’s greatly affecting libraries small budgets? Thank you.

i hear you. There’s a plan. We just need some time to get it done. Although honestly, the biggest challenge is refunds. You’d be surprised how often people go “Amazing! Thanks for this ebook!” And then turn around to us and say “Can I swap this for something else?” 😂

To pile on: lately I’ve been hit with an issue where I can check out books with my library card but they don’t appear on my Kobo despite the Kobo store having the “same” book. Multiple library card support would also be huge, in NYC I legitimately have 3 cards with all separate availabilities.

piling on to say I just bought a kobo to get out of the kindle ecosystem + I was sold by the integration w Libby and expected to be able to access multiple library cards, was super disappointed when I found out that was discontinued. also, didn’t realize magazines aren’t integrated!!

Sorry, I meant multiple cards was discontinued on Kobo (I was already a big Libby user on my old Kindle) but I guess a better phrase would’ve been “no longer compatible with Kobo.” Appreciate your work on this!

So glad to hear it. The most critical thing now is multiple library/card support. If I’ve got three books through three different institutions, I should see all three sync to my Kobo through a single Overdrive/Libby login. There was an involved workaround for this that stopped working ~summer ‘25.

The second thing would be those titles that won’t sync regardless of the issuing library. I borrowed Wuthering Heights from the same institution that issued another book synced to my Kobo. It didn’t appear. I’m guessing the book ID wasn’t one Kobo could match, but I don’t know the details there.

I have sworn to my marketing team that I never speak of the future, only the past and the amazing, limitless now. There's a trapdoor under my desk chair that they can trigger if I talk about anything that we might be doing next. Not sure what's down there. Sharks maybe. Or magma. 🦈🌋
