Post

had dinner, and now we're back. getting all the auth right and zod and whatnot as all my frontend friends tend to yell that zod is the only way

okay crud is done, gonna start on the actual UI now. I promised a friend i was going to use open street maps, so that's where I'm gonna start

okay im using leaflet and i need to force ssr false unfortunately, but that's alright. shoddy wifi is preventing me from seeing the map though

im setting a width/height boundary but it's looking very very wrong. I think we're gonna go watch a movie so this is a tomorrow problem.

post github link, I wanna see if i can fix it

<3 Tyty haven’t pushed it yet, gimme a few mins

github.com/jaronoff97/r... done. it's pushing now. slowlyyyyy

github.com/jaronoff97/r... okay here's the leaflet commit @yef.im

getting back to it rn, dont have a ton of time before we hit Atlanta. Slept way better than I thought I was going to be able to. Gonna be hacking on this in between O11y day talks later.

okay fixed the problem – I didn't import the styles

well wifi is really not on my side right now, we'll see how much i can get done.

okay at the hotel now. gonna get ready for the conf and continue on over there

okay at the conf, watching some colleagues present on the github.com/open-telemet... work

okay post lunch, back to hack

tanstack tables often confuse me, shadcdn confuses me more, the combination of the two somehow makes sense though? ui.shadcn.com/docs/compone...

taking a break to listen to @aparker.io's awesome talk about trace analysis

WHY oh WHY is it so freezing in here, they're blasting the AC like it's 100 degrees outside, but is a frigid 40 degrees in ATL today.

okay forms are confusing, types aren't working correctly so i get a lot of type errors from my autogenerated prisma zod types

decided that i hate forms this way, im going to make a simplified wizard so i can embed a location creating form, review form, picture upload, etc. that way it's all in one flow, kinda similar to beli.

been working on the above, and back today for the main conf. i got a double espresso which was the size of maybe a quadruple espresso (cup was around 100ml). gonna be wired all day

DB Calls have been made, but I'm nervous as hell for my talk today. Kept waking up in the middle of the night with a nightmare that i was two hours late

GOOD LUCK!!!

THANK YOU, sitting here editing a photo to distract myself
