Ah yes. The negativity is slowly sinking its way into BlueSky. Just a piece of advice, don't repost about folks you don't like. Block them, and move on. I literally don't have negative vibes on my feed UNTIL someone talks about them.

That's what I'm saying! Haha! Like folks stay on the mission. And honestly, people apply the term "Echo Chamber" so broadly. A team focus on one goal is not an echo chamber. A group sharing their joy for something constructively isn't an echo chamber. All I ask for is to encourage positivity.

And that's not to say turn a blind eye to negative information, but strive to make something good out of it. You know? Comfort, resolution, solution. Etc.

heavily seconding this, the whole time i was on twitter i internally begged for people to stop feeding the trolls because retweeting people to dunk on their bad takes does nothing but just spread their hate further, whether it be non-serious anime discussion or arguing about human rights

i hope that this ends up persisting and that it doesn't warp into just becoming more of those posts, doesn't mean that everyone needs to stop posting about their serious issues but i don't want to see the trolls fed and the block button is useful and valid here

The one twitter trend that i hope doesn't get carried over is the Pile On. I get the sentiment, i understand the reasoning, but the reality is that the majority of the stuff bad actors say and do is specifically TO GET the reaction. esp in fandoms. they want the attention. people forgot

The sad truth is that you can't curate who follows YOU (until we get private accounts) So you may simply be giving someone you don't like a secret follower. You're also enhancing their algorithmic significance. Gods die when you dismiss them entirely. Give them no name. Give them no attention.

This all day long. We keep things in tune and harmony when we don't harbor ill feelings. We're 19 million strong. We're not going to like everyone, and not everyone is going to like you. Just focus on the positive aspects, the people here that like you and respect you. ✌️

Right on the money! Hell, I barely like my best friend's opinions sometimes 🤣. Just gotta learn how to balance your peace~💖✨

see you get me! haha. Like I get the whole righteous act of trying to get people to knock em' out the box. but I literally DONT know these folks and I was never going to know em in my feeds UNTIL they show me. Twitter was chock full of "what am I gonna see that I don't want to today?"

Yes and no. The harsh reality of disciplinary actions is that there will always be folks who are misunderstood or are in parallel to someone else's stank. For now, BlueSky is snuffing out flames quickly but inevitably there are misfires and blurred lines already

Even better: use the report button!! If you want to make sure that BlueSky doesn't become a cesspool like Twitter, then you NEED to report the Twitter Bullshit when it appears. It's easy, it takes 4 clicks, and can be done in less than 15 seconds- do not give jackasses attention, just report them.
