I backed the Good Omens graphic novel kickstarter back before the Gaiman news broke. There was a window to get my money back, but ultimately decided that I didn't want to take money away from Doran. After it was too late for a refund, they told me the shipping cost, which was in British pounds (!)

got hit with a $17 shipping fee for a crowdfunded book that cost $30 these high, post-campaign shipping fees are also in part responsible for reduced backer numbers on smaller campaigns imo ... i know they're transparent, but it's still a change to the model and very consumer unfriendly

It cost me between 50&60 Canadian dollars just to ship the book. I think I ended up spending close to $125 on a book I was completely deflated about. No clue it was being shipped from overseas. I'm done with crowdfunding. First and last.

Speaking of money, help settle something: I always thought a millionaire was somebody who earned a million dollars a year. But apparently there is another camp that thinks a millionaire is someone whose *total assets* are a million dollars or more. Which is correct?
