Do you *really* need to know how it works or is it the newest hype word to distract from the fact that AI models aren't getting substantially better, and aren't very useful past boiler-plate problems, but the Anthropics and OpenAIs of the world need to keep goosing their stock prices?

I’d be curious to how it differs in an applied way from other integration patterns and protocols like REST, GraphQL, WS-*. Generations of protocols promising to be the one to solve all the problems has created doubt that this will be the one.

Three things: 1) Runtime reflection, which only GQL supports and only when it's enabled. 2) The AI can't natively access your APIs without tools. And 3) With those tools it would have to parse your whole API before making requests, and it could get that wrong. So why not just give it the tools?
