Guessing this is not based in actual fact. But what is fact is this is the guy who forced the Ten Commandments into classrooms. 🤦‍♂️

When you are wealthy enough, you employ people whose role is to reduce tax. If you want improved healthcare, education, or cost of living, we should be clear about what the richest are actually paying or avoiding.

ProPublica@propublica.org

TikTok investor Jeff Yass avoided paying $1 billion in taxes while largely escaping public scrutiny. He then poured that money into campaigns to cut taxes and support election deniers. From the ProPublica archives:

Philanthropy guided by a single person is too tempting to become a political agenda shaped by personal interests rather than society.

Silly me thinking yesterday’s leftover bacon would be around this morning. Have kids they said, they will bring you joy. What they didn’t say is they will take your bacon. 😂

I used to order pizza delivery and paid by post dated cheque. The shop owner was my creditor when I was a teen. 👴

Let me guess - All of society’s problems will be solved by more policing. It’s the bad guys fault that society feels dangerous, not that bad government who has prioritises the donor class more than the citizens. 🙄

“In recent years, many Americans have decided that their country’s problem was that it had too many police officers, when in fact its problem was that it had too few,” Malcolm Gladwell writes:

Where is all the debt hiding in the AI labs and operators? Maybe it is time for Claude/Copilot/Gemini/ChatGPT to do some deep research.

Watching the youngest’s final kapa haka performance of primary school and it’s amazing to see the vibrancy of Māori culture. It makes me realise how little we embraced the First Nations of Canada growing up, and wonder what we missed.

Alberta is our brat child. We accept their quirks, and just hope that it’s mostly rhetoric to want to feel special. Alberta isn’t the key to making headway with Canada. You can’t avoid the elephant in the White House if you want to repair the relationship.

Sen. Adam Schiff@schiff.senate.gov

My first stop was Alberta, the only province not boycotting Californian wines. I spoke to provincial leaders about the importance of the Canadian market to California farmers and the importance of continuing close collaboration on dairy, beef and energy trade.

I say “brat” lovingly. Canada’s diversity makes it special. A tapestry of stampedes, kitchen parties, skating the river, or cruising the trails is what makes Canada great. I hope Alberta doesn’t get over its skis with separatisn, or get fooled by tech fueled rage baiting driven by the minority.

Waste of tax dollars. Heath needs to figure out how to structurally diversify trade, not have pointless conversations that won’t change a thing.

Sen. Adam Schiff@schiff.senate.gov

I then traveled to Ottawa, the nation's capital, to sit down with Canadian Minister for Agriculture, Heath MacDonald, and members of Parliament to discuss these issues and what can be done to mitigate the harms to both our economies until we can end them.

Maybe talk to your president and foreign policy leaders about their inflammatory threats? Or grow a spine and do something about the endless wars your country has started and can’t seem to end that affects the rest of the world? 🤷‍♂️

Without American wine on Canadian shelves, Canadians are also missing out on tens of millions of dollars in tax revenue they would obtain from selling our wine.

Worth a watch, especially if you are a manager. There is no sugar coating the garbage that women deal with in the workplace.

I gave a talk at EMF titled "Men in Tech #YesAllMen", in which I told my experience of being a woman in tech. I was afraid to publish it in case it affected my current or future employment. With all the current news I would like to add my 2¢. So here is the recording: youtu.be/WXL6K1lhvt0?...

Some product manager is getting their wings for spotting these trending needs to capture market share.

Bloody hell. This is not, as Simeon Brown has claimed, doing everything to get enough nurses on the ground. It’s the opposite. #nzpol “The Government has told nursing schools to train fewer nurses next year.” www.stuff.co.nz/politics/361...

stuff.co.nzGovernment tells nursing schools to stop training so many nursesThe edict came from the Tertiary Education Commission, to the surprise of many nursing professors and lecturers last week.

Regardless of how accurate the depiction of codecs, tensors, etc… the fact he kept the conclusion pinned to things we choose to do with it is key to where bad things will happen.

✅Science ✅Tertiary Education ✅Commercialisation ✅Fellowships ✅✅ Innovation What is this?!?!? All these things… in one policy announcement?! 😱 It’s almost like someone has actually figured out that these things are connected… 💚

Unsure how to react 🤔 ... is scarily visionary ...(and has been a while since we've had such an option suggested here) ... ... here's hoping 🙏 www.greens.org.nz/greens_econo...
