Was pondering about the aesthetics of The Matrix lately and how it feels like the digital world is no longer sufficiently depicted by a cathode green glow or monospaced type and now has shimmery colorful texture, shapes, and vectors with raster imagery and rich type blinking in and out like ghosts.

It made me think that “liquid crystal display” could be translated as an aesthetic instead of a display technology.

Also dang, I was so disappointed by Resurrection. At least Reloaded had some panache with the whole Merovingian plot and that killer highway scene.

resurrections imo is really really bad BUT i have a great deal of respect for it because it very daringly sucks on purpose. the only thing is i wish for the "game", instead of using matrix 1 footage, they used enter the matrix footage

I think we'd all (in good faith) agree there were extremely cool things about the second 2 movies. It's just a shame the broad strokes lacked narrative dignity.

it was very bold of lana wachowski to tank the matrix on purpose before warner bros did it themselves
