I’ve been trying to keep using it, but Twitter is truly gone, like literally everything there is irredeemable garbage now, it feels like the moment the election was over it completed the transformation into just another soulless empty content mill for brain rot videos and low effort right-wing slop

I’m not saying it to flatter bluesky, this app is just ok and should be A LOT better, but Twitter is literally unusable now, everything on there is done better by Reels, Shorts, and TikTok - which is where they’re stealing all the content from anyway, buried in between boring racist sexist shitposts

The election was absolutely the last phase of the enshittification. We should be lucky if it can finally go the way of MySpace. But having the top replies to literally every post being from a crypto MAGA chud really killed it for me.

Not sure I agree that BlueSky should be a lot better. They only have 20 full time employees, compared to the unlimited resources of the likes of Threads, Twitter and Tiktok. They'll get there but it'll naturally take a while.

I'm not sure how big a factor it is but political & other bots may actually be able to takeover a system without enough guardrails It's primarily due to Elon being a 4chan troll type, who has gotten people to buy into his public townsquare BS In reality it's a billionaire's personal media network

It's almost ironic that I started my twitter account over a decade ago cause folks kept posting screenshots of posts from Twitter to other platforms so I figure cut out the middleman, and now twitter is just all of that second hand garbage. I don't need to be babybirded by someone else's algorithim

Yeah part of the BlueSky appeal for me now isn’t about current features, but that i can see they’ve been trying hard, can see what they’ve implemented and genuinely excited to see what’s coming down the line V v clear Musk bought Twitter just to get in with Trump and now he’s done

I’m honestly just surprised at how quickly it collapsed into pure slop, I’m guessing it’s because he cut payouts so all the blue checks are posting 10x as much so the quality is basically less than zero now, at the same exact time all the normal posters, journos, leftists, etc jumped ship

Media outlets that moved here are saying many times more engagement, better throughput to their websites, and they took screenshots to prove it. Threads, apparently is not even a factor. Both Twatter and Threads push many things down the list because Zuckie and Melonhead want to control the narrativ

When you think about the intent behind the mission and in this case behind the purchase of X, it makes complete sense that it collapsed so fast. X is now quite literally a right-wing government propaganda tool.

the brain rot is spreading into the public sphere more and more. I notice so many people now just watching insipid videos on their phones with no headphones in public- the type where they fix everything with ramen, weirdo YT vids about cHeMiCaLs, and Trumpian podcast dudebros.
